The fact that it is happening at a community college in Cheyenne, Wyoming makes it a bit more interesting to those outside the Wyoming political loop. Before this, Wyoming's claim to political fame was merely being the first state to allow women to vote and the home of good old Dick "go f*%k yourself" Cheney. Considering my connections to this sordid affair as well as my credentials as a well-respected journalist, (try not to laugh too hard) I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to add some more attention to my former state of residence as well as give my dad some free publicity -- or at least make myself feel a little better about begging him for money to keep me in lap of luxury. Having grown up in Ambler, Pennsylvania -- the 'Asbestos Capital of the World' -- Alex saw first hand the devastation of his home town through the greed of Keasbey and Mattison Corporation who continued to manufacture Asbestos through the 1970s despite the evidence that had existed for years that Asbestos causes Mesothelioma, a serious form of Lung Cancer. Seeing the sickness of his community first hand eventually built the foundation for Alex's future environmental and social activism. While at Lehigh University studying Electrical Engineering, Alex became more intellectually aware of the systemic patterns of exploitation and human/environmental devastation brought on by a long history of a Capitalist system concerned only with profit. We can’t pretend we have freedom in this country until “we, the people” have a say in our neighborhoods, towns and cities, in our workplaces, our schools, and our government. This requires that the public actively participate in managing their own affairs, for example through neighborhood councils to have a say in the neighborhood, through labor unions to have a say at work, student unions to have a say at school, and other democratic organizations that give people the power to defend their rights. There is a dire need to hold our corrupt representatives in Washington accountable to popular will. [Read the rest of this article...]

I recently sat down with Major Cory Angell, Public Affairs Officer of the Pennsylvania National Guard to discuss not only his past and current role in the Guard, but also to gain some unique and firsthand insight into the role that the National Guard is playing in Iraq and Afghanistan. As the Public Affairs Officer for the PA Guard, Major Angell is ultimately the one that the media turns to for insights, sound bytes and details for anything related to the Guard and what they are doing in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is expected that President Obama will sign into law the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act this week. In what his administration will surely proclaim as a victory for Main Street, and the right-wing pundits and media will construe as an affront to capitalism in the omnipresent game of disinformation and propaganda; the only victor will be the Corporate system that dictates our Democracy and wreaks havoc on Global Markets for the sake of more and more profit to the detriment of the earth's inhabitants. Engaging in baby talk with one another, and ignoring historical realities will not save us from what will be a continued degradation of our security, prosperity, humanity and dignity, promoting catastrophic damage to the earth and its inhabitants all in the name of Corporatism. We are all benign to the fact that our political system has drifted far to what was once considered the right. There is no more left in the traditional sense. There is no more right as we define it. There is a one party system that is gaining more and more control as we continue to divide ourselves. The creatures that inhabit our political system -- the politicians -- are just as blind as the rest of us as they allow themselves to do the bidding of the [Read the rest of this article...]

If your Ford F-150 has a little mud on the tires, hell, trade up for a new one just like Tobey Kieth says -- or does he whore for Chevy? It doesn't really matter what you buy, how you buy or where you buy as long as you jumpstart the economy by putting more useless shit into your home or your stomach or your saggy tits. Come on, who doesn't need a breast implant? Jesus loves big knockers; and so does Uncle Sam. So go forth and consume!! [Read the rest of this article...]

So I ask of you my fellow Patriotic Americans: on this day of Commie Canucks known as Canada Day, be ever vigilant for the impending Canadian takeover of our culture and our way of life. These Canucks are among us everywhere and blend right in with us real Americans (as my hero Ms. Palin would say) who are of the Caucasian persuasion -- though it is my hope that we can implant all Canadians with a micro-chip upon entering our beautiful and free nation so we can keep track of all of them and be able to deport them if attempt to subvert us decent Americans with their Commie, hockey-lovin' ways. Perhaps when we stop fighting each other based on silly and ill-defined ideological differences perpetuated and ingrained through the corporate-controlled media and unite on the many issues we have in common, we can establish a system that works for us and through us. Perhaps I am naive, but I still have faith that the people united can always stand up to tyranny -- in whatever form it manifests itself -- and take back our nation and determine a path of liberty and economic, human and environmental sustainability that ours and ours alone; not the corporations path. I shudder to think what the other options are. [Read the rest of this article...]
